On February 11 Peter Bormann, from GFZ, passed away.
Peter was not only a person with a huge scientific knowledge (and in our specific case one of the greatest world wide expert in Magnitude) but also a person with a unique capability in transferring knowledge.
The training course that Peter run for several years has educated hundreds of scientists around the world. Peter dedicated huge efforts in the realisation of the NMSOP that is a milestone of the seismological education worldwide: http://www.iaspei.org/projects/NMSOP.html
It is useless to say how much we will miss this extraordinary scientists and human being.
